BIO:

Before becoming the General Counsel of the Social Enterprise Institute and the SESG members, Jim co-founded TAG Impact Partners - an impact investment banking firm in NY City. Prior to that, Mr. Fischer spent three years as Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel at Institute St. Onge, as well as its successor, i3 – Impact Investment Integrators, Inc. Both organizations sought to create value by developing profitable business strategies that focus on the delivery of tangible, measurable social benefits, not merely economic value for their owners or employees or consumption value for their customers. He practiced at law firms in New York City and New Jersey before holding various corporate positions, including General Counsel, and Vice President, Corporate Real Estate. He has over thirty years of experience in general business and contract law, specializing in corporate real estate, including industrial facilities, brownfields, commercial leasing and transaction management for corporations such as CB Richard Ellis, Inc., Avaya, Inc., International Specialty Products, Inc./GAF, Hayward Industries, Inc. and Monroe Systems for Business, Inc.

Jim has a BA from the State University of New York at Buffalo, an MA from Cornell University, and a JD from New York University School of law. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, and is a member of the Counselors of Real Estate, headquartered in Chicago, IL.
