We work with organizations to maximize their social impact and achieve sustainability through social enterprise.
We deploy our resources to strengthen organizations that are addressing persistent social problems.
We believe in the value of integrity, applied knowledge, data-informed decisions, process-led implementation, and change.
The Social Enterprise Group was originally founded in 2010 as the Community Health Development Fund of Pennsylvania. We started with the mission to help address some of the world’s most pressing social issues through social enterprise development with a primary focus on healthcare & health related organizations.
In 2014, we partnered with Elizabethtown College and established the Social Enterprise Institute @ Elizabethtown College. We successfully provided seed capital for 15 new startup social enterprises and provided advisory services to clients in various sectors (including logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, housing, and education).
In 2019, the Social Enterprise Group as it exists today was established independently of Elizabethtown College. Since then, we have expanded SEG resources to include over 10 senior fellow project directors and 20 subject matter experts. Our work with and through our clients has helped to maximize their social impact and continues to address the social determinants of health throughout the communities of Pennsylvania.
